Respect the Fetish

One of my absolute favorite episodes of the TV show Family Guy is when Quagmire found out that there’s free porn on the Internet. If you’re not familiar with the show, Quagmire is the show’s pervert. So needless to say for the rest of the episode he wouldn’t come out of his house, he barely slept, didn’t go to work, all he did was look at Internet porn. That’s how I’ve been with Tumblr for the last six months. I work and life goes on of course but there’s so much good stuff there I can’t believe I never looked at porn on Tumblr sooner.

As you can imagine I look for and follow a lot of butt and anal themed sites. Every now and then I’ll stumble upon a butt site and before you know it people are peeing or slinging poop and what not. I may love anal but I’m not into “all that”. But here’s the thing, I may not understand why someone’s into something I don’t like but I don’t discriminate against them either. Every one has different sexual triggers and there’s plenty of them out there. Check this out.

If you look at the Handbook of Clinical Sexuality for Mental Health Professionals you will find a list of more than 100 different fetishes. They include acrotomophilia (attraction to amputees), and katoptronophia (arousal from mirrors). Not to be outdone, a 2009 work on criminal and unusual sexual practices contains a presumably exhaustive list of more than 500 paraphilias, adding allotrioasty (attraction to people of other nations) and eproctolagnia (attraction to flatulence). Source

I was kinda surprised with there being 100 different fetishes and I was floored to find someone classified over 500 of them. How the hell do these things develop anyway? I found a brief explanation by Emily Nagoski, Ph. D, author of Come as You Are.

“So what happens is that from birth, our brains begin linking that sensation with external stimuli – the sensation of our genitals against our hands, the sights and smells around us, people, etc. Remember “classical conditioning” from your college psych class? Pavlov’s dogs learning to salivate when a bell rang, because the bell was associated with food? It’s like that. This process has actually been modeled in rats. It often begins with “accidental pairings,” but repetition appears to be a key factor in the development of a fetish.

People with sexual fetishes often remember the fetish as beginning very early in their lives. The most common fetishes, predictably, revolve around body parts (feet, specific bodily fluids, or particular body shapes being the most common), body modifications (tattoos, piercings), and objects related to parts (panties, stockings, shoes, etc), but may also involve your own behavior or others’ behavior.”

Ah, now it’s making a little more sense. So if Nagoski is right, the more hard ons I get from seeing girls deep throat and take it in the ass, the more I want to see girls deep throat and take it in the ass. Right about now, I’m sure my wife is thrilled. LOL

Needless to say there’s a lot of damn fetishes out there and although many of us may not be able to define where they come from, they are ours. The fact that I want to see some gal deep throat a 12” dildo then spit the drool into another girl’s mouth is kinda weird. Gross even. But guess what, it’s the kind of thing that gets me off and it’s not your cup of tea that’s fine. I won’t talk to you about it at work at the water cooler or bring it up at dinner.

I don’t care if you’re attracted to adults who wear diapers, sucking noses, or licking furries. It’s ok, it’s ALL ok to me. Ok in that I respect what gets you off even though it may do nothing for me. I can respect your fetish but keep in mind, your fetish should be legal…so be careful and obey the law.
