I surf the Internet as much as I can to curate some of the best naughty content from around the world. The biggest problem in comics/comic art is that most blogs stink, are pirates, or they’re just fan sites for an artist who has their own site, but every now and then I find something special that’s worth sharing. I stumbled upon The Ebony Fist http://ebonyfist.tumblr.com and I’m in love with the concept. I don’t think there’s even enough fisting in comics (or hentai) and SURELY there’s not enough black or interracial out there. I caught up with Nick, the creator of The Ebony Fist, and we did a Q&A.

Moose: I love your site for many reasons but the main appeal for me is that there is so little ebony fisting illustrations out there. What prompted you to start the Ebony Fist?

Nick: The short answer is really answered in your question. I love ebony girls, I love fisting and I love the two together. I simply want to see more. There is so little ebony fisting content available. If you look for it then you’ll find a small amount of porn videos and photos and it’s been pretty much the same content for years and as for erotic art it’s pretty much non-existent.

Of course if you were looking for blonde Eastern European girls doing fisting then there is no shortage!

In terms of my own motivations to be the guy that makes this content? Well it’s quite personal reasons and a bit deep. So hopefully if your readers don’t mind me going a bit deep then I’ll explain.

Growing up in my teenage years I loved drawing naked women. It was very tame stuff – softcore, a little bit of girl on girl too. I was also inspired also by fine artists like Rodin, Klimt and Mucha.

I had probably drawn about 100 drawings that I kept hidden under my bed as this was long before the days of doing art on the computer. One day my parents discovered my drawings, they were very unhappy and destroyed all of the pictures. My father told me that I was wasting my talent. I tried to draw some more but each time they were found and destroyed so that was pretty much me done with Erotic Art.

Fast forward twenty years and I discovered Deviant Art. I was amazed at the variety of erotic art and seeing some of the fetishes people were into was oddly comforting and reassuring. So many of the fetishes were ones that I’d liked years ago when I thought I was some sort of freak as I believed I was alone in liking them.

As for what tipped me over the edge into doing erotic/porn art again… I have a colleague to blame! (Though he doesn’t know it). I was drawing a black girl wearing a T-shirt, shorts and a baseball cap. His response was to jokingly say that I was just drawing porn. A day or two after that I thought “what the hell! I might as well draw porn” though obviously not at work!

I could say given my path to creating Ebony Fist that it is giving me sexual freedom and empowerment but that sounds a bit silly? I’m just a grown up doing the things I like!

Moose: I think you are a great artist but I noticed you commissioned other great illustrators as well. What do you look for in an artist before approaching them for commissions?

Nick: Commissioning other illustrators initially came about because I couldn’t keep the rate of posts up to the level I want with my own artwork. Just not enough hours in a day!

Right now the reason for commission artists is mostly the enjoyment of seeing someone else’s artistic take on the subject matter.

So what do I look for in an artist… Well I usually don’t know if an artist is prepared to do fisting art before I ask, there are exceptions like Amy of CartoonPink, so I’m looking for evidence that the an artist have some sexy artwork in their online gallery.

Artists have to have at least 4 or 5 pieces of erotic art in their gallery as I don’t want to pick an artist who only did it as a one off. Seeing a range of subject matter also helps to show their versatility as an artist.

I look for artists with a semi-realistic or realistic style. I’m not interested in CG or Anime/Manga art.

I’m also looking for artists that can draw a range of ethnicities accurately – facial features, hairstyles, body types etc. I’m not looking for identical looking girls with just different shades of skin.

They have to be also able to draw a wide range of facial expressions not just ‘Oh!’ faces.

I don’t want artists to slavishly copy photos – swapping white girls to black girls or something like that. They’ve got to bring more to their artwork.

If I think they’re going to be more explicit in their art than me then that’s an appeal too!

Moose: What are you long terms goals for the site? Do you plan on putting together an e-book, or pay site, or doing anything in particular with the content?

Nick: The future of Ebony Fist… It would be great if it encouraged more ebony porn stars to try fisting! The more Ebony fisting out there the better.

For now Ebony Fist is my indulgence but I’ll need it to be more than that as it grows.
I can personally fund the artist I commission but I’d like to commission many more artists and to commission the best artists again and again so in some way it will need to generate money to sustain itself and be more than just another Tumblr.

So I’m starting to look at possibilities beyond Tumblr for the art of Ebony Fist.
A pay site is a strong possibility though some form of erotic art e-book would also feel appropriate. I’d also like more input from Ebony Fist’s audience as to what they’d like to see in future.

I’m definitely open to collaborations too as my recent experiences working with erotic authors has been enjoyable and positive.

Moose: Anal fisting or vaginal fisting, which is your favorite?

Nick: Both and at the same time! But if I had to [have] just one then it would be vaginal fisting.
